    Using the mediated wisdom of experience (MWOE) theoretical framework, this study examines how eudaimonic testimonials versus comparable didactic presentations, and the presence or absence of modeling target behavior, influence death acceptance and intentions to converse about end-of-life care preferences. Effects for testimonials on attitudes and behaviors proved contingent on modeling. When testimonials incorporated modeled behavior, individuals were more likely to intend to carry out conversations about end-of-life conversations. However, when the testimonials did not provide modeled examples of conversations about death, individuals were more likely to experience anxiety and less likely to intend to engage in such conversations. Therefore, this study explored polynomial models by response surface methodology (RSM) to better understand interactions among anode pH, cathode pH and inoculum size for optimising MFC system for generation of electricity and degradation of 2,4-dichlorophenol. A statistical central composite design by RSM was used to develop the quadratic model designs. The optimised parameters were determined and evaluated by statistical results and the best MFC systematic outcomes in terms of current generation and chlorophenol degradation. Statistical results revealed that the optimum current density of 106 mA/m2 could be achieved at anode pH 7.5, cathode pH 6.3-6.6 and 21-28% for inoculum size. Anode-cathode pHs interaction was found to positively influence the current generation through extracellular electron transfer mechanism. The phenolic degradation was found to have lower response using these three parameter interactions. Only inoculum size-cathode pH interaction appeared to be significant where the optimum predicted phenolic degradation could be attained at pH 7.6 for cathode pH and 29.6% for inoculum size.Objectives. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and a survey with labour inspection authority inspectors, and by reviewing inspection reports and earlier studies on workplace inspections. These were used in the first three cognitive work analysis phases to identify the prerequisites of effective workplace inspection and designing inspection strategies. Results. An abstraction hierarchy showing the affordances was prepared, with purpose-related functions identified as the inspection effectiveness prerequisites. A contextual activities template and a decision ladder for inspection work were prepared. Strategy maps for on-site control were created, allowing design of structured and organized workplace inspection strategies supporting the work domain’s purposes. Conclusion. The analysis dimensions served the study sufficiently, providing the purpose-related functions with their respective subgoals and subsidiary functions that provided the prerequisite for effective workplace inspections and allowed for designing structured and organized strategies for on-site workplace inspection.People who use amphetamine-type stimulant (ATS) are known to face barriers in seeking treatment. We sought to identify these barriers and gender differences in barriers (if any) faced by them. A convenience sample of 386 respondents who use ATS was recruited from five formal drug rehabilitation centers for this cross-sectional study. The majority were male (83%), with 17% being female. The barriers most frequently cited by both men and women were the perception that ATS use needed no treatment, fears of community discrimination, peer influence, and long waiting time to get into a treatment programme. One-third of the sample held that the mandated treatment programmes were ineffective, based on past experience. In terms of male-female differences, long waiting time discouraged significantly more women than men, whereas more men than women asserted that formal treatment programmes were ineffective. We also found no significant differences in barriers faced by ATS users and those using ATS with other illicit substances.
