The data set encompasses 85 operating cannabis dispensaries in Maryland and 6.1 million Marylanders distributed across 468 zip codes in 2018-2019. Results The analysis indicates that dispensaries are concentrated in zip codes whose residents are racially diverse, and with higher concentrations of retail establishments. Conclusion Community level racial or income disparities in access to medical cannabis were not observed in Maryland. Access to medical cannabis, based on ability to pay out of pocket for the product, may be uneven.
Several measures have been developed to examine acute psychedelic effects (e.g. mystical-type and challenging experiences), but no measure assesses acute psychologically insightful experiences that may occur during psychedelic experiences.
The purpose of this study was to develop and examine the psychometric properties of the Psychological Insight Questionnaire.
A cross-sectional survey study among psilocybin and LSD users. Respondents (
=1661;
=22.9, standard deviation=8.5; Caucasian/White=83%; non-Hispanic=91%; men=72%; United States resident=66%) completed an Internet-based survey.
The Psychological Insight Questionnaire consists of 23 items with two subscales (a) Avoidance and Maladaptive Patterns Insights and (b) Goals and Adaptive Patterns Insights. Rabusertib cell line Construct validity of the Psychological Insight Questionnaire was supported by strong correlations of the Psychological Insight Questionnaire (and Avoidance and Maladaptive Patterns Insights and Goals and Adaptive Patterns Insights subscales) scThe Psychological Insight Questionnaire has the potential to extend the understanding of the acute and enduring effects of psychedelics. Further longitudinal research is necessary to determine the long-term predictive validity of the Psychological Insight Questionnaire and to examine the role of psychological insight in predicting therapeutic outcomes.

Here we report on the usability and feasibility from a pilot test of a novel assessment methodology. This preliminary data demonstrate the usability and feasibility of this assessment system, suggests that it is sensitive to change, and supports the further development and testing of this assessment. The assessment methodology, here presented, generates a percent change score based on the metric measurement of individualized goals before and after intervention, thereby facilitating comparisons between groups and across goals. Moreover, it can be conducted remotely and introduces the novel element of goal appropriacy assessment such that goal selection, as well as goal attainment, are assessed via metric measurement.
Otogenic lateral sinus thrombosis (OLST) is a rare complication of otitis media. We do not know whether the disease progress between the pediatric and adult OLST patients is consistent. However, pediatric surgical methods always refer to the adults’.
This study aimed to seek evidence for suitable surgical methods in pediatric patients.
The clinical manifestation, laboratory findings, and findings in operation between children and adult groups were compared.
Ten children and 17 adults OLST patients were included. Most pediatric patients had no history of chronic otitis media or cholesteatoma (
<.001). The ratios of otorrhea, tympanic perforation and sclerotic type mastoid in CT scan were significantly lower in the children group (
<.05). The mean air conduction hearing threshold in the children and adolescent group (31.25 ± 21.27 dB) was significantly lower than that of the adult group (77.6 ± 23.66 dB) (
<.001). The diseases in attics (66.7%) and the ossicular chain destruction (33.3%) were not as severe as those in the adult group (
<.05). The eustachian tube closure was found similar in two groups.
Conservative surgery is recommended to pediatric OLST to obliterate the diseases and improve middle ear and mastoid drainage, preserving hearing function.

The first case describes the management of a 12-year-old girl with a Class II division 2 malocclusion complicated by moderate upper and lower arch crowding, multiple unerupted teeth, restored lower first permanent molars, pseudo-transposition of the lower left lateral incisor and canine, and diminutive upper lateral incisors. Treatment involved a combination of an upper removable appliance followed by upper and lower preadjusted edgewise fixed appliances. Anteroposterior correction and overbite reduction was achieved with triangular Class II elastics with posterior occlusal disengagement. Both upper permanent canines were exposed and aligned, and the diminutive upper incisors built up with resin-based composite. Treatment was completed over a period of 23 months. The second case describes the management of a 13-year-old boy with a Class II division 2 malocclusion complicated by severe upper and lower arch crowding with unerupted UR5, UL4, LR3, rotated LR5, an increased overbite complete to tooth, buccally displaced upper canines and hypoplastic upper first premolars. Treatment involved a first phase of functional appliance therapy, followed by the extraction of UR4, UL4, LL5, LR4 and upper and lower preadjusted edgewise fixed appliances over a 28-month period.
